About Us - The History of Muffin Mania Cafe
Young sweethearts Rocky Sullivan and
Ilona Agress prior to founding Muffin Mania.
Master Musician and Creative Chef. Rocky Sullivan was a singer/songwriter nearly all of his life. However, many things seemed to keep tugging him back into his Sicilian father and grandfather's line of business. Rocky's family has always worked in the restaurant business, tracing back to Italian restaurants in Brooklyn and further back to Sicily.
On January 4, 1983, he and his wife Ilona opened up their muffin shop in the Gerstle Park neighborhood of San Rafael. Soon, they added other food offerings to their menu, since Rocky was a creative chef who loved to experiment and try new things.
Before they knew it, Muffin Mania had a committed group of patrons that couldn't get enough of their wonderful food or Ilona's personable nature. Customers knew they could always come by for a friendly chat and a great plate of food.
Dylan Galante - A New Generation
After Rocky's untimely passing in 2007, Rocky and Ilona's son, Dylan Galante, stepped in to continue his father's legacy of lovingly churning out delicious pastries and food.
The Art of Baking. Dylan is no stranger to baking and cooking. He worked in his family's bakery since the tender age of 7 and received his training in Baking and Pastry at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in St. Helena. There he worked with master bakers and top pastry chefs and expanded his knowledge in the science and art of baking.

Website Designer: My name is Michael Quinn. I am a Baha'i. I created this website for Ilona and Dylan. Rocky and I met when we were 19. We met in a club in New York City where we were performing. Rocky was kind to me. He encouraged me. He was generous and talented. He was a great singer and songwriter and performer. He was humble. He loved his family and friends.
